More Doc’s To Love!

Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar & Grille is opening a second location – Doc Ford’s Ft. Myers Beach!

Doc Ford’s Ft. Myers Beach Rum Bar & Grill is set to open in late March or early April in the building along Fisherman’s Wharf on San Carlos Island that was home to the Bridge Restaurant for more than 20 years.  It will be the second location for the popular Sanibel eatery, named for the popular Doc Ford novels by local, best-selling author Randy Wayne White.

To date, the building has been gutted and is in the process of being updated and refitted. Doc Ford’s Ft. Myers Beach will feature the same tropical-themed decor and menu found at Doc’s Sanibel. Featuring terrific views of the water and Matanzas Pass, there will be seating for about 200 people with both indoor and dockside dining.

“We have a great product,” partner Mark Marinello said. “It’s a great atmosphere and we also have the local flavor, with respect to the book and the author, and I think we’re going to do well there. We’ve heard from a lot of off-island people and they’re very excited about it.”

Keep watching! We’ll be featuring more photos and updates here as they become available.
