Randy Wayne White Debuts Doc Ford Thriller “Deep Shadow” at #6 On New York Times Best Seller List

Fans of the Doc Ford mystery series gave author Randy Wayne White a thrill of his own as he found his latest novel, Deep Shadow, debuting at #6 on the New York Times best-seller list.

White will be signing copies of Deep Shadow at Doc Ford’s Fort Myers Beach on Saturday, March 27th from 12 to 2pm and again from 4 to 6pm.

At a pre-release signing event and kick-off to the book tour on March 7th and 8th, White met with hundreds of enthusiastic fans. “If our event last week at Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar & Grill is any guide, we expect a huge crowd at our Fort Myers Beach location,” said Marty Harrity, who is a partner with White in both restaurants. “It was the most successful crowd we have ever had at Doc Ford’s!”

Randy Wayne White commented, “It is extremely gratifying to receive so much support in the local community. Of course, a book doesn’t get to #6 on the New York Times best seller list on local sales alone, but the local readers are the people I know, who have become friends and fans of Doc Ford in the novels and the Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grill. I hope to autograph books for many of them on Fort Myers Beach.” Deep Shadow is the 17th novel in the Doc Ford series.

The novels, with a Southwest Florida theme, which feature marine biologist Doc Ford and his quirky pal Tomlinson, have enjoyed a growing following since first appearing in 1990. Their success led White to join with Marty Harrity and other investors to open Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar & Grill on Sanibel Island, where it has become a popular dining and gathering spot for residents and vacationers. A second Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grill opened in 2009 on Fort Myers Beach. With its waterfront venue, it has quickly become a major dining destination for Beach visitors.

Doc Ford’s Fort Myers Beach is located at 708 Fisherman’s Wharf, on the east side of the Fort Myers Beach Bridge. (239) 765-9660
