Doc Ford’s Headlines “Ding” Days Sponsorship

Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar & Grille has donated $5,000 to “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) for its 2010 “Ding” Darling Days birding and eco-festival, which will take draw more than 5,000 visitors to J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge the week of Oct. 17-23.

DDWS President Jim Scott, Doc Ford’s Co-owner Marty Harrity, DDWS Board Member Craig Albert, Doc Ford’s Co-owners Brenda Harrity and Mark Marinello, Doc Ford’s Manager Liz Harris, and “Ding” Darling Days Co-chairs Wendy Schnapp and Ranger, Toni Westland.

As a $5,000 donor, Doc Ford’s becomes a Roseate Spoonbill, a top level sponsor for “Ding” Days.

Doc Ford’s joins Island Sun, Sundial Beach Resort, Times of the Islands, Bailey’s General Store, Jerry’s Foods, Ocean’s Reach, R.L.R. Investments L.L.C., Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, Jim & Patty Sprankle, The Sanctuary Golf Club, ‘Tween Waters Inn, West Wind Inn, Mike & Terry Baldwin, Bank of the Islands, Rotary Club of Sanibel-Captiva, Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis, The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market, Big Red Q Quickprint, Casa Ybel Resort, Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP), Good Wheels, Island Therapy Center, Kirchner Contracting, Lighthouse Café of Sanibel, Edward Lamotta M.D, Sanibel Art & Frame, Wendy & George Schnapp, Winston & Barbara Spurgeon, and Twilight Café as sponsors of the 21st annual community event.

“Ding” Darling Days celebrates National Wildlife Refuge Week and the birthday of Jay “Ding” Darling, the refuge’s namesake and father of the Duck Stamp Program. The event is co-presented by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, DDWS, and Tarpon Bay Explorers.
